Green Communities Talk on Monday

The state’s regional coordinator for Green Communities programs will discuss strategies to reduce our energy use and carbon footprints. This Informed Framingham event is on Monday, December 11, 7 to 8:30 pm at the McAuliffe Library. It is sponsored by League of Women Voters Framingham and Sustainable Framingham.

Since being designated a Green Community in 2013, Framingham has received $551,900 in grants for a library lighting study and conversion as well as HVAC equipment upgrades at the Callahan Senior Center and Police Station, according to the local League of Women Voters. As of fiscal year 2016, Framingham had a 9.5% energy reduction from its baseline year of 2011.

Neal Duffy, Green Communities Coordinator for the Northeast Region at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, will give a presentation and take questions from the audience.
