Framingham has declared a snow emergency for Thursday, January 4, beginning at 8 am. All municipal buildings will be closed on Thursday, including the Memorial Building, Framingham Public Libraries, Loring Arena, the Callahan Center, and Parks and Recreation facilities.
The snow emergency means parking is prohibited on all “arterial roads” posted with red and white signs. However, it’s a good idea to park off the street if at all possible even on non-arterial roads, since any parked vehicle that gets in the way of plows may be ticketed and/or towed.
Not surprisingly, Framingham public school classes have been cancelled for Thursday as well, and all school offices will be closed.
Trash and recycling collection, already on holiday week schedule, is further altered. If your regular trash day was Thursday, pickup will be on Friday. If your regular trash collection day is Friday, it will be picked up on Sunday.
The Recycling Drop-off Center on Mount Wayte Avenue will be closed until next Thursday, January 11.
Framingham commuter rail will be running a reduced schedule. Any train shaded yellow on the PDF schedule will not be operating.
