Things I learned at this Spring’s Saxonville Mills Open Studios:
Owners of the proposed Saxonville Mills Cafe and Roastery expect to open sometime next month (May 2018), pending city licensing and inspection approval.
Plans are underway for an official Saxonville Historic District, which would join five others already established in Framingham. While the area is already listed on the National Register of Historic Places, that’s primarily an honorary designation without offering significant protection or preservation. Friends of Saxonville will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, April 26, 7 pm at Stapleton Elementary School. Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer will be the keynote speaker.
Fireseed Arts in the Mill creates musical instruments from reclaimed materials. It’s housed in a cool space that’s also available for rental.
There’s a vintage items shop in the Mill, Past Prezence, which sells primarily online.

Open Studios continues tomorrow, Sunday, April 8, 2018, from noon to 5 pm at Saxonville Mills, Watson Place off Concord Street.
