Mayor Spicer will be at the Saxonville Mills Cafe & Roastery (2 Central St.) this Saturday March 2 from 8:30 to 9:30 am for an hour-long “dialogue about the issues that are impacting you day-to-day,” she tweeted. All are welcome to drop in.
Also Saturday at the Mill: Closing reception for the Paper Trail art exhibit at The Mill Contemporary Art Project B Gallery, 1 to 4 pm, Building 1.
Tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 28) at 7 pm, the McAuliffe Library hosts a Lifelong Learning Lecture Series on Black Writers and Boston Publishing. The event features Dr. Lucas Dietrich, Visiting Lecturer at Framingham State University, who will discuss authors W.E.B. DuBois and Charles W. Chesnutt, both published by Boston’s Houghton Mifflin & Co.
And, there will be a workshop Friday (March 1) from noon to 1 pm on Understanding the Opioid Epidemic, with speaker Kelly Joseph, Framingham Health Department Program Coordinator and manager of the Massachusetts Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative’s MetroWest cluster, at McAuliffe Library.

The owner of city eyesore Nobscot Plaza is buying the Nobscot Chapel for $50,000, according to local media reports. “Andrew Rose, principal of Centercorp Retail Properties, agreed to purchase and move the chapel” and turn it into a cafe or restaurant, according to the MetroWest Daily News. “In its place, Rose hopes to construct a new CVS.” That topped a competing bid from Rick McKenna, who had offered to buy the property for $10,000 less and “transform it into an eatery and market.” See more: https://www.metrowestdailynews.com/news/20190226/framingham-plaza-owner-accepts-citys-term
