Framingham is now among the top 20 communities in known Covid-19 infections per 100,000 people in Massachusetts, rising to number 17, according to data released by the state Department of Public Health today (Wednesday). The city was 29th last week and 81 several weeks before that.
At 1,159 cases (including at least 65 of which are at MCI Framingham), the state Department of Public Health calculated that the city has 1,556 known Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population. That rate is up 42% from last week’s 1,096 known Covid-19 cases per 100,000.
Chelsea remains highest in the state at 5,958 known cases per 100,000, up 14% from last week’s 5,217, followed by Brockton at 3,235 and Lynn at 2,513.
Waltham and Westborough, which were higher than Framingham last week, are now lower.
However, we don’t know if the rate of testing is similar in all these cities and towns.
