New Covid-19 cases in Framingham have dropped considerably!
Hopefully that good news will continue as the city and state slowly “reopen”. Much depends on people still using masks and distancing from people outside their households.
There will be a Zoom community hour with Mayor Spicer and other city officials tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5 p.m. to discuss part two of the state’s Phase Two reopening and what it means here. A Zoom link will be posted soon on the city website, and a recording will be available after the event for those who can’t attend live.
Want to expand your local dining options? Choose Framingham has a list of city restaurants and whether they are open for delivery, pick-up, and now outdoor dining.
Garden in the Woods has reopened to the public. Per state regulations, you need to request advanced tickets online. There are timed entries and limits to the number of people allowed in during each 20-minute slot. Also, the parking lot is closed, so you need to park nearby in the neighborhood. Both Framingham public library buildings remain closed, but some programs have resumed online.
Still, as Covid-19 cases in Framingham and across Massachusetts drop and the state cautiously ‘reopens’, not everyone will be participating equally in resuming some activities - even with masks on. Those at higher risk due to age or health issues, or who live in a household with someone at higher risk, may still not feel safe going to public places.
Reminder that there’s a Framingham Coronavirus Community Outreach group with a list of resources and a way to seek emergency support (grocery or prescription pickup, for example) from volunteers. Also: Those who now feel safe offering to volunteer to help neighbors can now do so through the group as well.
