Sisitsky Cruises to Victory in Preliminary Mayoral Election

Former Framingham Selectman and City Councilor Charlie Sisitsky cruised to victory in yesterday’s preliminary election, trouncing incumbent Mayor Yvonne Spicer 4,401 to 1.938, according to unofficial results released by the City Clerk’s office. The two will face off in the general election on November 2. Challenger Carlos Valadares finished a distant third with 363.

Sisitsky won all but two of the city’s 18 precincts, including sweeping District 2. Precinct 5 went for Sisitsky 360-160 over Mayor Spicer, with Valadares garnering 30 votes; Precinct 3 voted for Sisitsky 261-135 and 27 for Valadares.

With a 20% turnout, Precinct 5 was one of six in the city hitting a turnout of at least 20%; Precinct 3 had a 17% turnout. The overall city-wide average was 17%.
