Unlike last year, experts are expecting a robust flu season this winter along with our ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Flu shots are a good idea, experts say! The city is sponsoring a free drive-through/walk-in flu shot clinic next Saturday, October 2 for Framingham residents at Keefe Vocational Technical High School.
Residents 65 and older can attend from 9 to 10 am; the clinic is open for all residents six months and older from 10 am to 2 pm. No insurance is required, but if you have insurance please bring your card.

For those who don’t want to make the 11+-mile roundtrip to Keefe Tech or who can’t make a Saturday clinic: Both pharmacies in District 2 - Walgreens on School Street and CVS in Nobscot - also offer flu shots. Shots are free with no co-pay for those with Medicare, MassHealth, and most private insurances for the regular or senior-high-dose injections (although do make sure the pharmacy is in-network with private insurance. And nasal vaccinations may not always be covered.).
MetroWest Pharmacy on 214 Union Avenue is also giving out flu shots as well as Covid-19 boosters. Nicole Messier Doak posted at the Framingham Coonavirus Community Outreach Facebook group: “no insurance, no ID, no appointment needed.” (Note: I am definitely not a Facebook fan, but the Framingham Coronavirus Community Outreach Facebook group is a great way to keep up with local pandemic-related info).
