Not a Great Week for Framingham Covid-19 Data

It wasn’t a great week for reported Covid-19 cases in Framingham, with rates rising to a level not seen since late April, according to data released today by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. At a daily rate of 15.4 known new cases per 100,000 residents over the most recent 14-day period, that’s a noticeable increase from summer lows (but still substantially lower than early this year).

Overall number of known new cases rose 32% from the prior period.

Test positivity rose to 2.07% from the prior week’s 1.58%.

Number of tests administered dipped 1%.

79.5% of city residents have received at least one Covid vaccine dose, while 70.9% have gotten one J&J shot or two mRNA vaccinations, according to the DPH data. Those rates are likely to rise considerably once 5- to 11-year-olds can begin receiving vaccinations.
